  The pretenders were next level tech in the transformers universe. instead of turning into a vehicle or a animal (which was pretty mechanical looking. Pretender Shell's aloud a transformer to hide their  nature as robots in an external armored shell which allows the robot to take the appearance of the native lifeform.  Atop of its main use for exploration and infiltration, it can add as a protective suit and aid in self repair and even act independently from but still mentally controlled by the robot as a secondary soldier. The downside of this is that if the shell is hurt the robot can fell it , even much more if it was a normal robot itself. Usually its a humanoid shell ( a human in battle armor for autobots and a monster for the decepticons).   Killjoy is a transformer that I've designed. Though I named my character from another killjoy , their not related except by name and the fact she has a similar pretenders shell but comparatively more modest. She is a engineer and served on a decepticon ship which goal was to find the lost Nemesis  and fixed the weapons of the decepticons. She armed herself with: - a sort of thrusters for flight in robot mode - a small inbuilt pistol - small mini missiles - in  helicopter mode she can use her missile racks - along with a small machine gun ( helicopter mode) - a pretenders shell(the small yellow circle on her chest is the device which produces the shell) - and a small knife(with a staff extension to make a spear) She also a bit of the brains in the ship and relatively makes battle plans , earning praise from the ship captain Warhog.   In the movies the construticons  were powerful troops of megaton which disguise themselves as construction vehicle and form Devastator , yea yea we know that. But their ones which aren't named but are hidden by their known counterpart or just unnamed. 1. Skipjack skipjack is the most obvious since he was named in the credits, he was the one who formed devastator while his most common counterpart  Rampage  was fighting,  which gives us confusion but its been proven defiantly he appeared in the film but never in robot mode.   I have  made a fanfiction community for transformers myself. Amongst the things in that continuity theirs the secret organization which I call Acanoth. I my continuity they act as a fusion between sector 7 and NEST as many ideas from both gropes but are not related at all. They been active since 1940 when a team of autobots lead by Musket( fan made) originally made contact with the allies while trying to locate the lost ark on earth and helped against the decepticon  who arrived by ship to look for the Nemesis , Allying with the Nazis during WW2, After WW2 ended most of the decepticon's were captured and stored in multiple containment sites across the earth. Since then the have been advancing in technology, inventing meches and laser technology as well as new jets and weapons to fight against any future containment breaches and new decepticon's arriving on earth.   The Mercenary faction is an independent faction during the great war, their separate from the Autobots and Decepticons and have a major black market which apparently is one of the few places which do open trading. Known mercenary include: Soundblaster (leader) Buzzsaw Dirge Ramjet Thrust Exhaust bugbite Dobledealer In the war for Cybertron show Bumblebee ofen trades with the mercenary's. When the autobots were low on energon he took Cog and Arcee  to their trading post to meet their leader but secretly tried to steal from them. Though they were caught they escaped due to the havoc created by shockwave to eliminate the Alpha Trion protocols  which were in Bumblebee.
